Technopark fully owned by Government of Kerala, is one of the leading IT parks in the country. Designed to international standards, Technopark at Trivandrum commenced operations in 1994 and today, it has become one of the largest IT parks where 150 internationally reputed IT/ITeS companies operate with more than 20,000 professionals and 4 million sq ft built-up area. It is also one of the most advanced IT Park in the country with cutting edge facilities across all spectrums of IT business needs located in a breathtakingly beautiful campus. Technopark as part of the hub and spoke model of development is expanding its activities to Kundara, Kollam, which is 63 km away. This is to tap the Kerala's unique advantage of uniform talent distribution, Infrastructure and supporting IT platforms, e.g. telecom, datacom and digital exchanges, excellent infrastructure availability and back-up support.   1. Kerala’s next big IT park in Kollam.
    The Government of Kerala, as part of its IT expansion plan, has committed to set up IT parks in every district and keeping up to the promise has handed over the land for setting up an IT park in Kollam. The official launch of the development activities of Kollam Technopark will be done by Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan on February 10 at Kundara, said an official spokepsperson. Kollam Technopark The 40 acre campus will have an investment of over Rs. 800 crore and will provide direct employment opportunities for 20,000 IT and ITeS professionals. This is the first district level IT Park that is being launched by the Government of Kerala as part of the new IT Policy. Minister for Education Shri M A Baby will preside over the function. Kollam District which is a veritable Kerala in miniature is gifted with unique representative features, such as sea, lakes, plains, mountains, rivers, streams, backwaters, forest, vast green fields and tropical crop of every variety both food crop and cash crop, so called ‘The Gods Own Capital’. The Thiruvananthapuram Technopark currently houses 150 nationally and internationally reputed companies. According to IT Secretary Ajay Kumar, “the Thiruvananthapuram Technopark is our inspiration to set up similar parks in every district and the dream is coming to realization with this ceremony. Kollam in its own right is a developed district with the growing cashew industry, excellent educational institutions.” He added that with the setting up of Technopark Kollam, Kerala hopes to see Kollam flourish and develop giving as a great IT hub providing better employment and a quality life to all professionals who choose to work from Kollam in future and make this place their home.

  2. The industrial town of Kundara gearing up for a major revival.
    Kundara was once a major industrial town which had Alind, KEL, Cyramics, Starch and a lot of other small companies. These companies are just a few Kms away from the centre of Kundara town. The new BroadGauge station at Kundara is hardly 3 Kms away from the Techno Park.
